I bet by now you’ve probably heard the good news. Apparently Nothing will be recording our next project in October with Everclear frontman Art Alexakis producing. We’ll be traveling to Portland, OR to record at Jackpot Studios.

We’ve been writing a whole mess of new songs, some of which you’ve heard at our live shows and some we haven’t unveiled (They’re just way too good/new!). We’ll be including as many of them as possible on the new disc while saving room for some of our older songs as well. More on that later!

In the meantime, we’ll be road testing some of the new material and, of course, writing our asses off.

I promise to keep everyone updated throughout the recording process. We’ll be taking a ridiculous amount of photos and video. It’s also possible we’ll have a special blog setup for the very occasion. Just you wait and see.

As many of you know, Everclear has always been one of the biggest collective influences on our band. Everclear songs were some of the first we’d learned to play. Personally though, I’ve been a fan through thick and thin, having been introduced to the band by my older brother in 1995 with their release of Sparkle and Fade. In fact, I own a site called Sparkle and Fade where all my random writings live… It’s still a trip wrapping my head around recording with the same guy who taught you how to sing.

I really want to thank all the fans we’ve had the pleasure of playing for over the years. In many ways we feel we’re recording a debut. If everything goes according to the plan, this album will reach as many ears as possible on a national level. Of course, I can’t make any promises, but I feel like this is the start of something real.

Here’s to doing what you love.

Well folks, we’ve got an action-packed weekend coming up on the 22nd of August. First, we’re playing The Middleton Good Neighbor Festival on FRIDAY. It marks the first GNF we’ve played without Jim. I hope you’ll all be out to give Charlie his first real hometown welcome.

Second we’ve got a date at The Frequency in Madison on SATURDAY the 23rd of August. It’s a benefit for a food pantry and we’ll be playing with Minneapolis sweethearts White Light Riot. The Frequency is Darwin Sampson’s new place (of The Anchor Inn… and lately the Annex (don’t worry, he’s one of the good ones)). He’s got a new venue and he’s ready to kick ass (and make some cash).

Thirdly we’ve got The Fine Line on MONDAY the 25th of August. We’d like to grab as many of you folks as we could on a Monday night. It’ll be tough, but come celebrate like true alcoholics and spend your Monday night hugging a bar!

So I went skydiving in the swiss alps at Interlaken. Ain’t no thang. We jumped backwards out of a helicopter at 15,000ft with a 45 second freefall and then about 5 minutes of scenery and violent spinning. No one died.

We made our way to Italy, somehow. We’re in the Piedmont range just kicking it in a little skiing town called Sestriere. I can’t pronounce it either. Italian fucking sucks by the way. Gibberish. I at least understood german, and could tell when the french were telling us to fuck off.

Oh well, these things happen. The internet is very sparse here. We get the BBC and MTV Italy. Woo hooooo! only it isn’t MTV. They play MUSIC… and southpark. weird.

Hey, did you know they had the olympics in Torino? I sure do.. ’cause it’s exclaimed fucking everywhere! Who gives a shit, right? Clowns, that’s who. Yes, I would like to order the Torino Olympics Pasta please. Thank you.

I will be back in the states on Monday. That’s Tuesday here, SPOOOOOOOOKY.

We have an amazing show lined up. Can’t wait to tell you about it. Neato. kthxbai

First off, let me say it. Austria is AMAZING. Maybe it’s just the hostel I’m at, but it’s fucking amazing here. There are guitars in the lobby just hanging out waiting for you to play. And the internet kiosks run linux. How bad ass is that?

Berlin was interesting. Too many damn kids at the hostel. Very strange, we’re talking 10-14 year olds in droves all smoking and drinking. It’s 16 to drink here and people even feel that’s too late. What the fuck. Gross. Really gross.

The city is pretty huge and sprawling, and is a stark contrast from a place like Frankfurt. Very urban, very ex-soviet feeling… and that’s the west too. We checked out the old checkpoint charlie and a holocaust memorial. I didn’t realize the majority of jews that were murdered were from Poland. Well I did, just didn’t realize the numbers difference. Horrible. But a perfect memorial.

We did Nuremberg in a day. I figured there’d be more nazi memorials, blah blah, there considering all the trials and rallies went on there. It’s just touristy trap garbage.

Austria though. I’m really excited for this one. We’ll see what tomorrow’s like.

I know that in the previous post, I mentioned that people are just people. I was half right. We got a taste of France’s brand of rude when we tried to book our tickets to Frankfurt. We did not want to through Belgium because it would cost us an assload of Euros. Which is 1.5 assloads of dollars ’cause the dollar sucks ass right now. But this French woman wasn’t having it. AT ALL. We were sent directly through Belgium which cost us 40 just for passing through their country. Boo.

To answer Jim’s query, yes. We did meet ONE cunt.

These keyboards are also ridiculous. Z and Y are switched so, mz name is shekez. Neat, kinda. If you haven’t figured out, we’re in Frankfurt wondering what to do, etc.

We’ve got video and pictures, but we haven’t been able to find many proper internet cafes. Good thing Frankfurt is fucking full of them. We’ll get our escapades up soon enough. Stay tuned, speed racers.

What a difference a day (and 60,000L of water) can make. Seriously, nothing like a nice welcoming stab in the back from rain daggers. Woof.

Today was fawesome. We went and saw all the standard touristy stops. Buckingham Palace (which proved my theory that horses are fucking gay), Big Ben (it’s a clock! lolllzz), we ate at this place called “Eat.” I had “Food.” there. We also walked some 6 miles today, ’cause we don’t trust cabs or their lefty driving.

I’ve almost gotten hit by an exorbitant amount of big red buses. Pbbbt. Ain’t no thang.

Oh, and we got a nap in at Russell Square since these 3 assholes decided they’d like to try their hand at snoring last night. They were pretty good for first-timers. One would think they were seasoned pros at fucking people over. Neat!

We’re leaving for Paris at 5 AM via train. Let’s hope I can forget all about the discovery channel documentaries about the Chunnel being a piece of crap. Let’s hope those pumps don’t break!
