Jolene

Posted by Shekey | 6 Comments

Otherwise this might get a little awkward. We’ve been keeping busy, writing and recording little demos. Here’s a new one. We haven’t titled it just yet, so I’ve named the mp3 a pretty name, Jolene.

It’s a single-mic recording. A rough draft. It will surely benefit from some real lyrics and time…

Strange World Tonight

This was recorded the night Jim left the band. I was left speechless.

Here’s another work in progress. Last night was an odd one. Thought I’d try and capture the downtrodden mood. I’m looking forward to working on this one.

My Friend

We’ll post a proper demo as soon as we get the chance to record it. This song’s about the loss of a friend.

Critique and enjoy.

Missed

Posted by Shekey | 1 Comment

The sun hits my empty room.
I’m still dreaming about you.
I’m falling in love all over again
But I don’t even know you.

You know I miss you,
That don’t mean shit to you.
When I told you I love you,
I hear nothing from you.

You’ll stay next September,
They know home’s nothing without you.
Where you know you belong to,
I know you stayed here for me.

But I’m strong enough without you,
For a semester or two.
I don’t care what it means to you,
but I’m still in love with you.

Turn Out the Light

Well we never put this show on the site ’cause we kept this one underground to the super fans only. We played an acoustic set with an encore that turned out being really great. Playing acoustic is so much different, stripping the bravado and letting the songs speak for themselves. The Minnesota Daily was there shooting the show so look for an interview in Monday’s paper.

One of my favorite songs we played was a new one we wrote the previous night. It’s called “Turn Out the Light” and you can download a demo we recorded this weekend. Enjoy!
