Don’t Go Falling Asleep
I promise I’ll tighten up those backing vox. Oh, and it’s missing a scream and a mix.
You’ll always have more plans than memories
Now that the summer breeze cuts through the cemetery trees
I’m falling asleep, you’re gonna hate me.
All the nights, all the streets lead to the hospital sheets.
Did you really wanna be with me?
I can’t believe you wanted to be with me.
I’m falling asleep now
Don’t go falling asleep now
And all your friends, yeah, now they’re leaving you
They laughed at all the silly things you wanted to do
I’ll follow your ghost down to the west coast
I’ll leave today, I’ll be that cliche
Did you really wanna be with him?
I can’t believe you wanted to be with him
I’m falling asleep now
Don’t go falling asleep now
The Middle Coast
Mary left me the house and three kids
She took her life yeah, and everything with it
I move to the west coast
It’s the same as the east coast
Running around, yeah, following your ghost.
Tell me what you want
And baby, if it’s good
I’ll give you everything that I know I should
I miss you most in the mornings
Come this time next year, yeah, I’ll still be mourning
I give you my life and I’m happy with it
Spend six years, yeah, to find you don’t know shit
I know deep down,
I was a good man
I know, I know, I know, I know, I know I was the best man…
Tell me what you want and baby if it’s good
I’ll give you all the things that I know I should
I miss you most in the mornings
I still see your face, yeah, I’m still mourning.
Highschool
You and I met in high school. Chemistry class to be exact. It’s 16.6 miles round trip to your old house.
Off the Deep End
We’ve been working on this song for a while now during practices. It’s going to end up being pretty poppy. Nothing wrong with that! Pretty straight-forward and plug-and-chug if you ask me. Give it a whirl.
All this needs is some Chad Kroeger and it’ll be a bona-fide mega hit. God I love Nickelback. They’re almost as good as Evan’s Blue. Fuck those guys.
Jolene
Otherwise this might get a little awkward. We’ve been keeping busy, writing and recording little demos. Here’s a new one. We haven’t titled it just yet, so I’ve named the mp3 a pretty name, Jolene.
It’s a single-mic recording. A rough draft. It will surely benefit from some real lyrics and time…
