Jolene
Otherwise this might get a little awkward. We’ve been keeping busy, writing and recording little demos. Here’s a new one. We haven’t titled it just yet, so I’ve named the mp3 a pretty name, Jolene.
It’s a single-mic recording. A rough draft. It will surely benefit from some real lyrics and time…

Is this the same song you guys were working on when I was filming you last year? I have footage/audio of a song you guys were working on that sounds similar to this one, but had (in February) shelved it.

This is a brand new one. Hadn’t ever played it before the last 2 practices. I can’t imagine which one you would’ve heard. We’ve always had a lot of random riffs brought to the table.

how long ago did you write ‘My Friend’ Aaron? It may have been that one. They both sound somewhat similar in the verses.

My friend was written during the summer of 07. It hadn’t been kicking around at all. We just sat down and wrote it from its original draft form.

the drums are strong, should let the singer out of the other room, does sound familiar but think it’s just an’s sound–exciting to have activity!!

haha, small practice spaces aren’t very useful for one mic recordings, but yeah, its a fun tune to play. It must be the sound thats familiar, because this new batch of songs we’ve been working on feel very fresh, which is a relief. It’s nice to have some time to ourselves just to write.
